And getting here is also relaxed – Mals/Malles is located in the heart of Obervinschgau/Alta Val Venosta, perfectly connected and surrounded by hiking trails, ski resorts and cultural treasures.
The train station is only a five-minute walk away – no traffic jams, no searching for a parking space, just arrive and breathe easy. For those travelling by car, the hotel has its own parking spaces and electric vehicle charging points. For us, sustainability starts with the journey.

Mals/Malles nestles 1,050 metres above sea level in Obervinschgau/Alta Val Venosta – the westernmost tip of South Tyrol. Your nature experience starts here: hiking trails lead along irrigation channel paths and up to peaks, bike trails criss-cross the region and, in winter, ski resorts like Watles, Sulden and Schöneben beckon. Cultural treasures, such as Churburg Castle, Glurns/Glorenza and Marienberg Monastery, are also very close by.

Do you enjoy travelling sustainably? The best way to get here is by train – Mals/Malles train station is just a five-minute walk from Bio Hotel Panorama. It couldn’t be more convenient: no traffic jams, no hunting for parking spaces, just arrive and breathe easy. The Vinschgau Railway connects Mals/Malles with Meran/Merano and all of South Tyrol, and with the free Reschensee Guest Pass, you can use all public transport free of charge during your stay, including both buses and trains.

Directions for getting here
Coming by car? That’s no problem either. Mals/Malles is conveniently located on the Vinschgau state road (SS40), which runs through the entire valley. The journey is straightforward, regardless of whether you’re coming from the north (Austria/Germany), south (Meran/Merano or Bolzano/Bozen) or west (Switzerland).
From the north (Austria/Germany):
Take the A22 Brenner/Brennero motorway to the Bolzano/Bozen Sud exit, then continue on the SS38 towards Meran/Merano and on the SS40 through Vinschgau/Val Venosta to Mals/Malles. Alternative: via the Reschen Pass (B180 from Austria).
From the south (Meran/Merano or Bolzano/Bozen):
From Meran/Merano, follow the SS40 through Vinschgau/Val Venosta towards Mals/Malles. The 75-minute journey takes you through picturesque villages, past apple orchards and Lake Reschensee.
From the west (Switzerland):
Over the Ofenpass (Graubünden) and on through Münstertal valley to Mals/Malles. One of the most beautiful mountain passes in Europe!

With the free Reschensee Guest Pass you can travel throughout Vinschgau/Val Venosta, with buses, trains and many cable cars included. This way you can easily reach hiking trails, excursion destinations or Glurns/Glorenza without having to use your car or search for a parking space. Sustainable travel has never been so easy.

Around 75 minutes by car via the SS40 through Vinschgau/Val Venosta. The Vinschgau Railway takes about 90 minutes – and you’ll enjoy the scenery along the way.
