Sustainability based on conviction
Organic values
Organic is not a trend for us, but a way of life – for over 20 years. Since 2002, we have been Italy’s first certified organic hotel according to EU organic standards and a member of the Association of Organic Hotels.
This means that every ingredient, every material and every decision at Bio Hotel Panorama follows the same principle.
Respect for nature, transparency of origin, quality without compromise. Two generations under one roof work together to ensure that our organic approach is not just a promise, but a tangible reality.
What organic means to us
Our philosophy
The organic concept doesn’t just start on the plate. Organic living begins with making a decision about how we want to farm, build and live. We have been meeting the strict guidelines of the EU organic standard since 2002. This means that all the food in our restaurant comes from organic farming. No pesticides, no genetic engineering, no compromises. But our organic approach doesn’t stop at the kitchen.
We have deliberately chosen natural materials for our construction: timber frame building, clay walls, solid wood furniture sourced from the region, and our rooms are furnished with organic cotton bed linen. The water throughout the hotel is GRANDER water – revitalised water straight from the spring – and in some rooms, drinking fountains ensure that this precious resource is readily available. Thanks to network isolation (Bio Switch), you can sleep free from electromagnetic sensitivity and radiation, green electricity flows throughout the house and electric vehicle charging points are available outside the hotel. For us, organic is an attitude, not a marketing strategy.

ORGANIC VALUES
From the garden to the plate01
Our organic garden
What arose from necessity has now become an integral part and centrepiece. It’s the heart of our in-house production. With many varieties of fruit, vegetables and herbs – watered using collected rainwater, lovingly tended by Friedrich Steiner and our wonderful team. What grows here goes straight to our kitchen. No transport, no middlemen, no packaging waste. All homemade, all organic quality.
Sustainable construction02
Materials that breathe
We expanded in 1999 using timber construction – out of conviction. Timber frame construction, clay walls, wall heating: our hotel is built so that it can breathe. Natural materials regulate humidity naturally, creating a healthy indoor climate. In the rooms you’ll find solid wood furniture made from regional stone pine. The result? Rooms where you feel comfortable without knowing exactly why. It is the sum of many small decisions that create a tangible sense of natural wellness.
Circular economy03
Using resources wisely
We collect rainwater, use it for watering the garden and also for flushing toilets in the hotel. Our green electricity comes from renewable energy sources and partly from our own solar panel system. Organic waste from the kitchen is composted and returns to the garden as fertiliser. Electric vehicle charging points charge your electric cars using clean electricity. It’s a cycle: from the garden to the kitchen, from the plate back to the garden. This completes the circle – and nothing is lost.
Organic is taking responsibility04
For the next generation
Georg runs Bio Hotel Panorama with support from Thea, Friedrich and Julia – two generations who share the same goal: to create a hotel that inspires today and will endure tomorrow. To us, organic doesn’t mean perfection, but attitude. It is a conscious commitment to quality, sustainability and honesty – in the kitchen, in the rooms, in our dealings with our guests and with each other. A path that we follow with conviction, day after day.

Organic means taking responsibility
For us, organic is not a detail, but a fundamental decision. It shapes how we work, build and organise our everyday lives. In our restaurant, we only serve food from organic farming – free from pesticides and genetic engineering, with no exceptions.
This philosophy runs throughout the entire hotel. During construction, we deliberately chose natural materials: wood, clay and solid wood furniture from the region create a healthy indoor climate. We don’t see the organic approach as a trend, but as an attitude that we live by every day.
